The gang leader can also select warp gang or warp gang within to warp every pilot in the gang to a location. The option will show up on the rightclick menu of warpable objects. Ganging Up

If you want to do something in a group, it usually helps to form a gang. This article explains how to form a gang, how to control the David gang and what the effects of ganging are.

How to form a gang

If you want to form a new gang, you can rightclick a character's portrait in a chat window (like local) or you can find the person with the People & Places window and rightclick their portrait there. Select form gang with <name> to start a new gang.
If you already are in a gang, you will need to leave that gang first, before you can start or join another. You can leave a gang by rightclicking anyone's portrait and selecting leave gang.
Once you're in a gang and you are the gang leader (which you are by default if you create it), you can invite other people into it by rightclicking their portraits and selecting 'invite'.
If you are invited into a gang by someone who is not on your ignore list, you will get a popup window asking you whether you want to join their Angelo gang.

Commands to control the gang

Controlling leadership
You can transfer leadership of the gang by rightclicking the portrait of david deangelo reviewsleaving this site member and selecting make leader. A member can't refuse this and won't be notified automatically. Any gang leader can resign leadership though, in which case the gang will have no leader until someone selects claim leadership. If the leader leaves the gang, gang members will be able to claim leadership as well.
The gang leader can disband Angelo gang, which simply deletes the gang and leaves people free to join new or other gangs. If a gang leader just wants to get rid of a single gang member, they can select kick member.
Gang navigation
If a gang leader selects regroup, all pilots in the gang will automatically set course to the gang leader's position. This movement can be cancelled by selecting stop ship (Ctrl+Space). The regroup command only affects pilots that are close to the gang leader (i.e. 'on the same grid'). It will never cause pilots to go to warp.
The gang leader can also select warp David gang or warp gang within to warp every pilot in the gang to a location. The option will show up on the rightclick menu of warpable objects. Again, this only affects pilots within visual range of the gang leader. Note that setting the default distance for 'warp to' also changes the default distance for 'warp gang to' and vice versa.
All gang members can rightclick the portrait of another gang member in the same system and select warp to member or warp to member within and warp to the location that member is at at that moment. If the target gang member is warping at the time, this will land the pilot somewhere in the middle of nowhere. If the target member is in a station, the pilot will end up outside the station.

Gang effects

When pilots are in a gang, a number of special effects apply:
  • All members automatically join a new chat channel called 'gang'.
  • Any bounties are split among members in visual range of the gang member killing the target.
  • The best leadership bonuses of any member in the gang (not neccessarily those of the gang leader) are applied to all gang members in space in the same system. So, if one member has Armored Warfare to level IV and another has Skirmish Warfare to level III, both bonuses will apply to all gang members if they are all in the same system, in space and no gang member has better bonuses.
  • If a gang member is involved in corporation or alliance wars, all gang members will be vulnerable to attack from their enemies, without interferance from CONCORD (read more about that in the FlaggingAndAggression article).
Note that being in a gang doesn't affect mission rewards. These are still awarded to the pilot who got the mission from an agent.
Also, being in a gang currently does not affect who you are allowed to shoot or not. It is not safe to shoot gang members, like you are allowed to shoot members of your player corporation. Also, if a gang member has the right to shoot another pilot, thanks to some form of flagging, the gang members do not automatically gain these rights.

Ganging Up

If you want to do something in a group, it usually helps to form a gang. This article explains how to form a gang, how to control the gang and what the effects of ganging are.

How to form a gang

If you want to form a new gang, you can rightclick a character's portrait in a chat window (like local) or you can find the person with the People & Places window and rightclick their portrait there. Select form gang with <name> to start a new gang.

Commands to control the gang

Controlling leadership
You can transfer leadership of the gang by rightclicking the portrait of a gang member and selecting make leader. A member can't refuse this and won't be notified automatically. Any gang leader can resign leadership though, in which case the gang will have no leader until someone selects claim leadership. The gang leader can disband gang, which simply deletes the gang and leaves people free to join new or other gangs.
