Skill: Visibility (Trade)

Skill at acquiring products remotely. Each level of skill increases your remote buy order range. Level 1 allows for the placing of buy orders within the same solar system, Level 2 extends that range to systems within 5 jumps, and each subsequent level then doubles it. Level 5 allows for a full regional range.

Note: Only remotely placed buy orders (using Procurement) require this skill to alter the range. Any range can be set on a local buy order with no skill.

Description

This skill only affects remote buy orders; it increases the remote bid range (or maximum area of effect) of the order. At level I the maximum range is the solar system where the order is placed. At levels II, III and IV, the maximum range increases to 5, 10 and 20 jumps. At level V it is region-wide.

Availability

Available at schools in Empire space. Price: 7,500,000 ISK.

Tips

Visibility is the most misunderstood of the trade skills. The important thing to remember is that it only affects remote buy orders. It does not affect the "visibility" of these orders. All orders placed in a region are visible throughout that region.

What visibility does is to extend the functionality of remote buy orders so that it matches that of local buy orders. When placing a local buy order, the range can be set between station only and region-wide. Remote buy orders are limited to station only unless the visibility skill has been trained.

Training visibility to level V is generally considered to be a waste of time. There is little difference between a region-wide local buy order and a region-wide remote buy order.
